Mercado de Escravos (The Slave Market)

In the mid-15th century, the first slaves brought from Africa arrived in Lagos and began to be sold. One of the city’s oldest buildings currently houses the Slave Market Museum, which gives visitors a perspective of this regrettable chapter in Portuguese history.
