Commonly referred to as the "garden" of the Algarve, the municipality of Monchique welcomes you for a ride that ends at one of the best-known holiday resorts in the inland Algarve.
Leaving the town and heading towards Portela da Viúva-Selão, the winding roads take you around Fóia and afford one of the most sublime views over the uplands and the Vicentine Coast.
From Portela do Vale, ride downhill in a southerly direction to the hamlet of Montes de Cima. From here the successive up-and-downhill stretches are great fun and will bring you through the village of Senhora do Verde until you reach Rasmalho and the main Portimão/Monchique road.
On the way back, linger for a while at the spa town of Caldas de Monchique, where the scenery inspires a sense of peacefulness.
