The Algarve Stadium is a top-class venue for the playing of sport, owing to the multi-purpose nature of its design, which includes everything necessary to host a wide range of national level and international events.

Built for the 2004 European Football Championships as part of the City Park development (Parque das Cidades), and jointly financed by the municipal councils of Faro and Loulé, this architecturally impressive structure, bold and futuristic in design, complements other facilities, permitting an all-round response as regards appropriate venues for high level sports.

With banks of seats on all four sides of the pitch, two of them being removable, the Algarve Stadium has a seating capacity for just over 30,000 spectators, two-thirds of which is covered, and so is able to house large-scale events and play host to tournaments and competitions, including those with two sets of games playing at the same time.

The Algarve Stadium is a facility which provides the best conditions for any team planning to train in the region and is home to the two local football clubs that share the stadium: Sporting Clube Farense and Louletano Desportos Clube.
