This is a more physically demanding section because of the terrain. The surrounding landscape is distinctive, largely due to the influence of the prevailing north-west winds. The cliffs and rock faces are higher, with tiny unspoiled beaches nestling between them. Highlights of this section include Aldeia da Luz, Burgau, Figueira and Vila do Bispo, the municipality that marked the beginning of the Discoveries Era.
