A day at the Zoomarine

A day at the Zoomarine

Experience the mystery of the Oceans

If you have children, why not spend a day at Zoomarine? Created as a result of the long-standing relationship between the Algarve and the sea, this oceanographic park is both educational and entertaining, and represents a unique opportunity to see dolphins, seals, sharks, turtles, exotic and aquatic birds, alligators and tropical fish.

It is a quiet spot, dotted with lakes and gardens, where you can unravel some of the “secrets of the sea”, as educational shows with animals are screened.

The day can start with the Dolphins in motion, a ballet of synchronised swimming which emphasises the beauty, power and capacity for learning of these ambassadors of the ocean.

The Enchanted Forest highlights the extraordinary cognitive abilities and songs of tropical birds such as macaws, cockatoos and parrots.

Touching the skies is a show with birds of prey, combining the skill, speed and elegance of these great predators of the air.  Here you can see eagles and falcons in awe-inspiring flight sequences.

You can also take the opportunity in the Aquarium to observe the fauna and flora of the marine world; as well as the fresh water world of the Ria Formosa (Formosa Estuary).

And obviously, the day would not be complete without going on the giant Ferris wheel or the pirate ship.   Only then will the day be complete!
