The best way to end a restful day on a happy note or unwind after work is to go bowling with friends. 

Music, a modern and relaxed atmosphere, lots of fun and smiling faces are guaranteed in all the bowling alleys in the Algarve.  They are the perfect place in which to meet people and spend an enjoyable evening around a sport that can be played by all ages. 

For those unable to do without fresh air, Green Bowling or open-air bowling is another excellent alternative.  This form of bowling on grass is the original form of the sport which emerged in England in the 12th Century and gained such great popularity that King Edward banned it in favour of archery, a sport of great military importance in that period. 

In its modern form, bowling appeared in Germany in the 15th Century and was adopted by the Americans who gave it the dimension that it enjoys today. 

The Algarve is not indifferent to this very popular pastime, and has good quality facilities.  Scoring a strike will give you great enjoyment!
