Shopping malls

Everything in one place

“Shopping in a shopping centre” means wandering around at your leisure, taking in the atmosphere, stopping for a light meal, and lingering to go to the cinema later on.  The Algarve has adapted to modern tastes, and today has first class facilities where everything is at hand.

The most important of these shopping centres is the Algarve Shopping near Albufeira.  This is an open air shopping plaza where the architecture echoes traditional Algarvian architecture in an attractive setting.  With more than 150 shops, the centre offers visitors a broad range of areas: the supermarket, the bowling alley, cinema, restaurants offering both Portuguese and international cuisine, and a variety of shops.

Another option for shopaholics is the Fórum Algarve in Faro with approximately 100 shops around a plaza decorated with water fountains.  There are also nine cinema screens, and restaurants offering Portuguese and international cuisine.

Another shopping centre is the smaller, but exquisite Quinta Shopping Centre situated on the Quinta do Lago Resort.  Here, you can find cosmopolitan boutiques, luxurious furniture shops, restaurants offering the ultimate eating experience for sophisticated tastes, and, to chill out in the evening, a typical English pub.
