Crystal clear water to enjoy all year

Approximately half of the beaches achieving Gold Standards are in the Algarve.  This classification, awarded by one of the most prestigious Portuguese Environmental Associations – Quercus – lends distinction to beaches on the Portuguese mainland that have attained the required standards under Portuguese and EU legislation for five consecutive years.

Bathing resorts which have been accredited by governing bodies are considered to be of good quality.  To ensure high standards, they have to be thoroughly monitored and evaluated for physical, chemical, biological and microbiological conditions.

Once again, Algarvian beaches stand out among beaches in mainland Portugal achieving this order of distinction - just one more reason to go bathing and walking, have a good time and live life to the full in safety.
