The SATA air carrier launched a new route from Faro to Funchal and Ponta Delgada. Flights on this new route will take place twice weekly and will help to increase the movement of passengers between the Algarve, Madeira and the Azores.

For the time being, this seasonal air link will remain in operation until 13 September, with flights taking place on Mondays and Fridays.
