The Hotel Garbe has become a member of the international hotel chain IHG – InterContinental Hotel Group, so that its name has changed to that of the Holiday Inn Algarve. Under the terms of the franchising agreement, refurbishment work began a month ago and is set to continue until March 2011.

The former Hotel Garbe, in Armação de Pêra, will continue in operation, but the improvement work has already led to the adaptation of the reception area and some of the rooms (66 out of a total of 185). Meanwhile, a meeting room is set to be created, with space for up to 50 people, according to the “Publituris” newspaper.
