The reservoir at Odeleite, which is the largest artificial lake in the Algarve’s Sotavento (eastern) region, is set to be given a land use plan that may include both a lakeside beach and tourist accommodation.

The current proposal envisages the provision of rural tourism facilities on the shores of the Odeleite reservoir, in Castro Marim, together with other forms of accommodation. Also under consideration is the possibility of creating a lakeside beach, which will be equipped with facilities for other leisure activities such as fishing and water sports.
